I've always wanted to go to visit Kingston but, is it safe? You will invariably be told to be careful when going to Kingston. Because of its past and present history of political violence which is 99.9% confined amongst individuals of each party. It is very rare that tourists are involved. On the contrary they are welcomed, but as in any big city these days you have to be aware of your surroundings and be vigilant in certain areas.
